Written Guide:

What do I need:

  1. A Docker Host of some kind. I am using Unraid, which I highly recommend. But you could run the container on anything , like Proxmox or Ubuntu.
  2. A video source. In the video I use an HD Homerun Duo and an antenna in my attic to capture OTA Television Broadcasts in my area. You could use any .m3u file format for this.
  3. Optional - a Schedules Direct account. $35 a year will save you a lot of hassle for creating your Electronic Program Guide (EPG)

Steps:

  1. You'll need to install StreamMaster. It is a 1 click install on Unraid and I really will only be focusing on that. Docker Compose file is available on the Wiki.
  2. Once it loads, you'll see 2 halves of the screen. The right side is for .m3u links and are your Streams or your data source side. The left side is your EPG (Electronic Progam Guide) / Channels side.
  3. First, Click the Green M3u Button.
  1. Then click the Green plus Button
  1. Populate the Source URL, Name the source, change the number of streams available (i.e. HDHR Duo supports 2 Streams simultaneously)
  1. Before we save this, click the M3U Key, and then choose your selection from the Key Mapping. You Need it to be a Number, not the text. I.E. URL above will turn to a 0 (zero) once selected. I suspect this is a bug that maybe fixed in the future. Saving the M3U will fail if you don't do this.
  1. Click the Green Check Mark.
    1. Using an HDHR? Use your local IP with /lineup.m3u - as seen below
  1. Optional - Create a Stream Group, click the Orange SG Button
    1. This is a good way to sort and categorize your video streams.
  1. Then press the Green plus Button
  1. Name it whatever you want. I will us HDHR for this example. Press the Green Check mark when you are done.
  1. Select your Stream Group from the drop down (if you want, you can leave it as ALL)

Note: You can use the "Eye" Filter to limit your selections to just the channels sent to HDHR

  1. Use the Green Plus button (red arrow) in the Streams side to send the channel to the Channels Side. Note the Membership Column which will populate once it has been sent to Channels
